Initial Site Recommendations for Human Settlement:
All of these sites are located in the central part of the island making use of the fertile soil and lush rain forest. As it is in the central part it does not have a high amount of rainfall meaning that crops will not be flooded and infustructure will not be damaged. It is also away from the high wind of the west to ensure crops, cattle and humans remain safe. By locating all the sites in close proximity it means that they can all work together and share resources as well as providing a community to provide support and security.
Site 1: B5
This location on the island could potentially be used as a harbor for imports and a place to store the boats for fishing and traveling expeditions. This location is ideal as it is close to other settled sites and offers space for storage to be built.
Site 2: C8
This site location will provide high prospects for import and export opportunities through the use of the Port. It is also within 15kms of a river which will potentially be able to provide the settlement with fresh water. There is also a high amount of flat surface ground and adequate rainfall which provides ideal growing conditions for a range of crops. Furthermore, the flat surface will provide space for livestock, which therefore enables us to have access to dairy and meat products and also potential trade opportunities. As the settlement is close to forestation we will be able to utilize these resources to build infrastructure that the island will need to establish itself as an economic power house.
Site 3: C5
This site is also located in the central part of the island which means that it is at low risking of rising sea levels. It is close to the rivers providing fresh water, the soil is fertile and again close the the rain forest to make use of the high rainfall and also the abundance of vegetation. As it is close to fresh water it will be a convenient area to design and build the required infrastructure required to supply fresh water and develop an efficient sewage system.
Site 4: C6
This location was selected as the plains are ideal for crops and the flat surface makes it better for infrastructure development. Again like the other locations it has access to fresh water and ideal for crops and cattle. The nearby Lake will potenitally provide fresh water for humans and animals.

It is located near flax, cotton, kapok and pandanus crops; these are all important for harvesting. Coconut palms are also found along the beach, which will be ideal for many uses. The settlment in B5 lies in the low shrub bush where the soil is reported to be extremely fertile allowing the perfect environment for the cultivation of crops. Also, because the land is flat here, development of infrastructure would be relatively easy. It is also close to a fresh water source that can be accessed for human use, cattle and crop use. Additionally is it close to the rain forest and woodland areas which will provide the oppurtunity to utilse the forestation for infrustracture.

This settlement is located close to the base of the mountain which will provide high levels of rain, creating a suitable environment for crops to grow that require alot of nourishment. The settlement is also close to the coast which may provide oppurtunities for small scheme imports and exports to occur.
